In Sanskrit, it is referred to as “Ajna,” which translates to “command” and “perceiving.” Due to its location, it allows you to experience both your inner and outer worlds through self-reflection and engagement in spiritual reflection. Put simply, your Third Eye Chakra allows you to both see and interpret the world around you.

Overactive Third Eye Chakra

If you have ever overloaded on caffeine, then you have experienced the sensation of having an overactive Third Eye Chakra. Symptoms of an overactive chakra include: difficulty concentrating, headaches, nausea, insomnia, and vision problems. You may start feeling overwhelmed, and in extreme situations, experience hallucinations or delusions.

Underactive Third Eye Chakra

On the other end of the spectrum is a blocked and deflated Third Eye Chakra. Those with underactive chakras tend to have trouble empathizing with other people and retaining their learning and memories. Signs of depression are also associated with an underactive Third Eye Chakra.
