3-D Printing Could Offer a Fertility Breakthrough

New research conducted at Northwestern University gives new insight into the future of regenerative medicine. Biomedical engineers were able to use 3-D printing to create an ovary to allow an infertile mouse to naturally mate and subsequently give birth. Doctors hope that if this treatment can be duplicated in humans so that women who undergo cancer treatments may one day be able to naturally conceive. Although doctors aren't yet sure when this study can be replicated in humans, the scale-ability of 3-D printing means that the cancer patients in the near future may have more fertility options.Read or watch more about this medical breakthrough on CNN.
