Ashley Powell
Ashley "JiggPuff" Powell is currently a
student at Michigan State majoring in
Marketing & Dietetics. Originally from
Detroit (Motown!), Ashley loves music and
believes in...3D Let's Make it Happen!
Ashley is the owner of Organic Health Care
(a for-profit company) and President of
Urban Organicz, a 501(c)(3). The mission
of Urban Organicz is to spread awareness
the "chasing cool" of environmental
stewardship. "Our main goal is to connect
the community with existing resources to
help them start their own community garden,
and form partnerships with other existing
agriculture programs." While a student at
Golightly Career & Technical Center, Ashley
began to put her vision in action by
developing a business model to attract
young people to agriculture business
opportunities under her company Organic
Health USA. Think, Eat, Live Organic!

Brian Gallino - New Orleans, LA
Brian recently graduated from Loyola New
Orleans with a major in Music Industry
Studies.   He has played in bands since high
school and has been passionate about
music ever since he can remember.   In New
Orleans, Brian has interned with local record
label Chopper City Records and produced
tracks for numerous hip-hop artists.   At
Näkturnal, he is eager to enhance his
marketing and social media skills, and meet
all sorts of industry professionals. In his
free time, Brian collects soul records, reads
marketing books, and strolls the New
Orleans streets. Who dat!

Chelsea Carson - Washington, DC
After spending most of her life in the Motor
city, Detroit Michigan, Chelsea is now a
sophomore attending Howard University in
Washington DC. She is currently working
on a degree in Public Relations with a minor
in Entrepreneurship. Chelsea has been a
part of several organizations while at
Howard, including the Michigan Club, the
Street Team for the student run radio
station, and has also started working with
Paradise Exit, an online publication that
talks about everything from fashion to sports
in DC. While at Howard she has maintained
a 3.3 average and plans to graduate in
2012. After graduation Chelsea would like
to do Public Relations in the entertainment
field, hopefully in the music industry. She
has acquired skills in leadership, writing,
promotions, and sales and plans to further
these skills through internships.

Erica Freeman - Jacksonville, FL
Erica is currently attending Full Sail
University working towards her bachelor's in
Entertainment Business. She joined
Näkturnal to gain experience in marketing
and promotions.

She is thrilled to be working with such a
talented group of people.

Erica's interests include: going to concerts,
George Romero movies, road trips, and
super cute shoes.

George Pace - Nashville, TN
George is 22 years old and a student at
Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU),
where he is a senior seeking a major in the
recording industry program (Music Business
sector) as well as a minor in Marketing.
George has been a music buff all his life,
with strong ties in music of the 90s as well
as "old school" and underground hip-hop.
When he is not waiting tables at the local
Mellow Mushroom, George is constantly
listening to and discovering old and new
(true) hip-hop groups... George says, "If I'm
not doing that, I'm at a show somewhere... I
am the guy that my friends go to when they
want to know about a show or have a good
time, hear a good hip-hop group, or find
anything music-orientated that's hard to
find." George has played the guitar for
awhile (though he calls himself an amateur
at best) and his current hobby is building his
own mini-studio to record some of his fellow
hip-hoppers. George's dream is to own a
bar/music venue that is a well-known
neighborhood spot for up-and-coming MCs
and classic hip-hop groups, both current
and "from the glory days". George wants to
handle booking and promotion for his dream
venue, and knock all other big-named
venues out of the box...

Jaimie Yates - Baltimore, MD
Jaimie is currently a senior at Towson
University, pulling a double major in Mass
Communications Advertising and Electronic
Media and Film, Media Studies. Upon
graduation, she plans enter the varied world
of television programming and
development.   Yates is a self proclaimed
nerd for learning with a penchant for
creative problem solving and social
networking.

JaRai Hughes - Pittsburgh, PA
JaRai, a Pittsburgh native, attends Robert
Morris for Communications PR. She
attended CAPA highschool for instrumental
music and currently plans to expand her
music career through working for record
companies world wide as a PR specialist.
Recently accepted to UNCC Charlotte for
Grad school.

JaRai is happy to have become an addition
to the Kellee Maize team.

Jess Vorpahl - Minneapolis, MN
Jess is a graduate of the University of
Minnesota - Twin Cities. She has danced
for the NBA and spent time living in
Florence, Italy. Her hobbies are modeling,
yoga and running, and her interests are
entertainment, fashion, art and
photography. Like Kellee, Jess believes in
our ability to use positive thinking to change
our realities. Her favorite quote is from
William James, who said that "The greatest
discovery of my generation is that man can
alter his life simply by altering his attitude of
mind."

Joe Cusumano - Detroit, MI
Joe, aka DJ Sohand, is a Detroit native. He
has made a name for himself in the
music/club scene for over 10 years. Joe
has been involved in many projects as a DJ,
musician, and producer. His influences
come from various styles of music,
everything from hip hop, rock, to electronic
music. In addition to the musical aspect of
his career, Joe is also a promoter and event
marketer for numerous events in and
around the Motor City.

Kyley Frasier - Albuquerque, NM
Kyley is currently a senior at the University
of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. She
can finally "see the light at the end of the
tunnel" and will soon graduate with a
Bachelor’s in business and a concentration
in marketing management. Following
graduation, Kyley intends to move to a city
with a more active hip hop culture and
pursue becoming an A&R in the hip hop
industry. Her goal in the near future
includes getting her masters in business,
and her long term goal is to eventually own
her own record label. Kyley enjoys going to
concerts and to the clubs with friends,
watching some good football, snowboarding,
and most of all, hip hop music. Kyley feels
that living a hip hop lifestyle has led her to
where she is today, and she hopes to
continue contributing that into the person
she wants to become. Kyley feels that
Näkturnal has strong potential to help her
grow as an individual as well as a business
woman, as the company provides an
incredible opportunity to help portray women
in the business world as professional and
dedicated entrepreneurs. She says, "not
only do the ladies at Näkturnal deeply
express their never ending goals and
aspirations, but they actively come through
and pursue each goal with pride and
dignity." During her experience with
Näkturnal, Kyley would love to contribute
some enlightening ideas to this growing
business as well as meet interesting people
and make connections along the way.

Laurel Wright - Indianapolis, IN
Laurel grew up in Crown Point, IN, a town
about an hour southeast of Chicago. She is
a senior at Indiana University studying
Tourism, Conventions, and Event
Management. In the past, Laurel has worked
for Bacardi and StudentCity.com, and her
career interests lie in event planning,
entertainment, and marketing. She is
currently working on an event
planning/promotions startup in Indianapolis
that she would like to get off the ground by
summer. In her free time, Lauren enjoys
traveling, music, concerts, and the Chicago
Cubs.

Lea Weatherby - St. Paul, MN
Lea is currently a senior at Hamline
University in St. Paul MN studying English
Literature with a minor in Psychology. Upon
graduating this spring she would like to
pursue a career in the entertainment
industry and feels that her internship with
Näkturnal and Kellee Maize would be an
incredibly rewarding place to start. Originally
from Long Island New York, she has come to
love Minnesota and the artistic richness of
the Twin Cities, and appreciates Näkturnal's
recognition of underground talent as well as
their pursuit to gain artists the exposure
they deserve. As an intern for the Näkturnal
team, Lea hopes to learn more about the
entertainment industry as well as gain
experience in promotional work and event
management.

Megan Burns - Columbus, OH
Megan is currently a senior at Denison
University in Granville, Ohio, but is originally
from Northern Virginia, just outside of
Washington DC. She is pursuing a
Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and
Spanish, and has also dabbled in cinema,
creative writing, music, and fashion.
Megan's interests include (but are certainly
not limited to) travel, music, cooking,
reading, writing/blogging, and thrifting. She
is also mildly obsessed with the Babysitters
Club. Megan is very excited to be a part of
the Näkturnal team, and she can't wait to get
the word out in Columbus.

Miguel Angel Trejo - San Antonio, TX
Miguel currently attends the University of
Texas at San Antonio pursuing a major in
Public Relations. His past experience
includes interning at Inspire, an advertising
agency, and forming part of various social
groups from school such as the College
Activities Board. Miguel has participated in
many charity events, such as Angel for a
Day, and plays on club and school sports
teams. He has lived in Mexico, France,
Venezuela, Brazil and the United States.

Rachel Miller - Athens, OH
Rachel is a sophomore at Ohio University in
Athens, Ohio majoring in Public Relations.
An avid music lover for as long as she can
remember, Rachel tries not to miss an
opportunity to check out the diverse local
music scene in both her college town of
Athens and back near her hometown in
Pittsburgh. She serves as the current Vice
President of Marketing at Brick City
Records, the student-run record label at
Ohio University, where she coordinates and
oversees all promotional efforts for the
business. She is also an active member of a
variety of other campus organizations
including the school’s chapters of the Public
Relations Student Society of America and
Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership
and Honors Organization. She is super
thankful to the Näkturnal crew for taking her
on and excited to dive in, get started and
see all this experience brings!

Rebecca Schaffer - Rochester, NY
Becca lives in Rochester, New York where
she is currently a Junior at The State
University of New York: College at
Brockport. There, she is focusing in Public
Relations with a Minor in Sociology. Becca's
educational background also includes an
Associates Degree in Visual
Communications with a concentration in
Television and Photo. She currently works
in promotional marketing for a well known
company in Rochester. Originally being from
Pennsylvania, she is glad to be working with
a company from her home state. In her free
time she likes to meet new people, watch
movies, explore new music, and create art in
all forms. She loves all things hip-hop and is
excited to have a part in raising awareness
about female emcees in the industry.

Savanna Strunk - Jacksonville, FL
Savanna is currently a student at the
University of North Florida, majoring in
Public Relations while also minoring in
Spanish. She grew up in Fort Pierce, Florida
where she enjoyed the ocean as one of her
favorite past times where she learned to surf
and skim board. She has spent her entire
life pursuing her love for music with not only
performing as the lead singer in her Church
band, but also going as far as bringing her
High School show choir, Belle Vois, all the
way to Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Savanna is ecstatic about working with
Näkturnal and looks forward to making sure
that she performs above and beyond her
already acquired accomplishments. “Pura
Vida,” meaning “pure life,” is Savanna’s
quote that defines her life, and she hopes to
share the same view with others around the
world. She aspires to use her extreme
passion for bringing together diverse
cultures to make our world a more
understanding and peaceful place.

Stephanie Parker - Philadelphia, PA
Steph is a New Jersey native currently
pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Corporate
& Public Relations at Drexel University in
Philadelphia. She was instantly attracted to
Näkturnal’s focus on bringing together
corporate communities through the music
and entertainment scenes, and is excited to
learn more about public relations,
promotions, and the workings of the
entertainment industry. Outside of
Näkturnal, Steph is a singer/songwriter who
draws inspiration from city living, and loves
fashion, cooking, and exploring the world
around her. After college, she hopes to
continue working in public relations
promoting the entertainment industry.

Tess Tallman - Richmond, VA
Tess graduated from the University of
Richmond with a degree in Journalism. She
loves to write, but her first passion is music.
In high school Tess worked as an
apprentice at a non-profit studio recording
mix-tapes for underprivileged youths who
wanted to be the next Jay-Z. She once had
an awkward moment just to see how it feels.
During college Tess worked as an intern
promoting up-and-coming musicians in Los
Angeles though press releases and handing
out CDs at events like the X-Games. Tess
is working as a waitress to save some
money and is constantly pursuing a career
in the music industry.
